Current Projects
Welcome, welcome, welcome! What is everyone working on? My latest project is an American Flag afghan in both knit and crochet. The afghan was commissioned by my Mother-In-Law for donation to the senior citizen center as a door prize for a Memorial Day celebration honoring veterens. Of course, when I started looking through my tons and tons of patterns, I couldn’t find one I liked. This meant I had to design my own, hence the combination knit/crochet.
It is actually coming along well, although it has to be done by the 13th of May and I still have 48 rows and 50 stars to go. It is getting a little difficult to work on though because I decided to knit it lengthwise. This means I am trying to stuff 72″ of afghan on 29″ circular needles. Depending on how well it turns out, I may post my pattern and pics of the afghan when I get it done.
The silly part of the whole thing was that what my Mother-In-Law asked for was a red white and blue ripple afghan. I couldn’t bring myself to go simple and now I am paying the price wrestling this thing around the circular needles. Why is it we crafters can’t seem to take the easy way out?
Let us know what you are working on. We’d love to hear about your crafting dilemmas.
You had better take pictures!! = )
April 30th, 2008 at 6:50 pmI don’t have a camera to take pics, but I’m sure I would be buried in yarn if I opened the closet door. (Not to mention the fact that I just bought another 30+ skeins of yarn!!!!} Finished an afghan that I gave for a graduation present and I’m attemting to fisish the rest of the projects before I start something new. YEAH, RIGHT!!!!
